Welcome aboard!
You will by now have received your notice of the Docks on Fifth Marine Association annual meeting coming up on December 8, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. at the Naples Public Library on Central Avenue. If you can attend, we would love to see you and share the news of this year, our budget, and any plans going forward. In the meantime, here’s the lastest news.
New Dock Boxes – Some of these were damaged in various storms this year, so they will be replaced over time. Some have merely needed new tops, which is easy, but others need complete replacement.
Security System Update – There is now a complete system that monitors the walkway, clubhouse and all slips. Although Joe has complete viewing of all activities, you can access your own slip! Full instructions are on the member login website.
Ron Sachatello – Our vice president, Ron Sachatello, has worked tirelessly these past three years to make our marina environmentally compliant and a place of extreme pride. We owe him a huge thank you for all his volunteer efforts at the marina. He has
- worked with Joe to clear out debris on the breakfront,
- cut down trees,
- obtained estimates and hired experts to repair anything he and Joe can’t handle,
- monitored activities on leased slips for damage,
- built all the planters and kept their plants well fed and watered,
- monitored and ordered professional regular mangrove cuttings to comply with the DEP
Lease Your Slip – Check out the website lease information if you’re interested in this attractive option for your slip.
Reminder – All access to the dumpster, ice machine and clubhouse is available with your dock key. Be very careful opening the heavy dumpster doors, as the wind can catch them and cause them to swing wildly; fortunately, smaller trash bins are located at the top of each dock, so using the big dumpster is rare.
We hope you will attend the annual meeting and enjoy the holidays. Boating has never been more fun on our waterways, so get out and enjoy the beauty of nature!
Cordially,
CK
